Behind-the-Ear (BTE) Hearing Aids

Behind-The-Ear Hearing Aid

Small and Discreet, Hard to See, Good for Hearing

Behind-The-Ear (BTE) hearing aids have the body of the device (the part that contains the electronics) behind the ear, while a slim tube or wire goes down and into the ear.  These hearing aids are very flexible, and can be used for anything from a mild hearing loss to the most severe hearing loss. When a person has hearing loss of a very high degree of hearing impairment, BTE’s may be the first choice because of the power of amplification they provide. These hearing aids also may use directional microphones for better hearing in background noise, and may have wireless Bluetooth function for connections to the TV and telephone.
