“Hi, my name is Megan Schlater, and I am an audiologist here at Now Hear This®. I wanted to tell you a little bit about myself today.

I am originally from Ohio and graduated with my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Wright State University. I was a first-grade teacher for five years before I developed an interest in audiology. This interest sparked when I had a student with a hearing aid in my first-grade class. Before that, I didn’t know much about the field, so I decided to take an intro to audiology class. This decision led me to pursue a career in audiology.

I completed my doctorate in audiology at the Northeast Ohio Audiology Consortium and moved to the Triangle for my fourth-year externship at the Durham VA and Medical Center. There, I gained extensive experience working with and programming hearing aids from various manufacturers.

After finishing my residency, I joined Now Hear This® and am very excited to be here. The practice focuses on best practices, including real ear measures, which are crucial. We also work with a variety of hearing aid manufacturers to choose the best options for our patients.
