Hey everyone, today we’re going to be briefly discussing the Starkey Sound Gear Phantom hearing protection and hearing aid all built into one. So this is a great option if you have mild hearing loss and you’re a hunter or a shooter. So, you still want to hear your surroundings.
It also might be a good option for you if you’re a police officer or work a government job. It’s also great for any recreational use, so mowing your lawn, working with power tools, and it’s also great depending on the industry you work in. So, automobile, dentistry, this is all a great option for you if you have mild hearing loss.
First I’m going to show you what they look like. These are custom devices, so that means we place a little cotton ball in your ear and then we putty in and then we send that impression to Starkey to be made and then when they come back they’re labeled L and R for left and right.
And then on the other side these little contacts, those gold contacts is what you’ll use to charge them.
So it just drops in here and that’s how you would charge them every night. Also on the face plate is a push button and a volume control — a volume wheel at the bottom. This volume wheel, you can increase or decrease volume and this push button is so that you can change programs.
These devices come with four programs:
- The first one is just your normal one, so that’s going to be your everyday program.
- The second program is going to have max compression and max wind reduction. So that will be a great one to use if you’re outdoors and it’s very windy.
- Then the third program is your high frequency boost, so if your hearing loss is more focused in the higher frequencies you might prefer the sound quality of the third program.
- Then lastly the fourth program is a mute program, so it’s just turning off the devices.
These can also connect to an iPhone or an Android which means you can stream music or phone calls, which is awesome. It does have a two-way mic, making it a hands-free phone call so that the person on the other end will be able to hear you without you holding the phone up to your mouth.
These are pretty cool devices. It’s going to help with hearing loss if you have a mild hearing loss and then it’s also going to help you with noise protection.
Noise protection is really important, especially when we’re exposed to those loud noises, because we want to protect our ears and protect those inner ear hair cells from becoming damaged — because once they are damaged, that causes hearing loss.
And then this lanyard is an option if you want to connect them.
But yeah, great options here. And if you guys have any more questions, feel free to give our clinic a call.
But it was nice talking to you guys, and this is a little brief summary of the Starkey Sound Gear Phantom devices.
Bye.
